Frequently Asked Questions

TNBTC is short for Tennessee Bitcoin Alliance. We are a Tennessee-based, bitcoin-only 501(c)(4) advocacy group that educates the public and lobbies for clear pro-bitcoin laws and regulations.

Bitcoin’s fixed supply, open protocol, and decentralized security make it fundamentally different from “crypto” tokens or CBDCs that might also use blockchain technology. Narrow focus on bitcoin, which is the only digital asset that qualifies as sound money, keeps our mission clear and avoids conflicts of interest.

We are funded through donations and memberships for both individuals and corporate partners. No token sales – ever.

We have several membership tiers, each one coming with a set of benefits. Some of these include voting rights in Working Groups, early access to policy briefings, free tickets to events, and more.

Not through us, but we can help you set it up. Our Lightning Launchpad pairs you with mentors, tools, and checklists for accepting bitcoin at your business.

Not at this time. As a 501(c)(4) we prioritize advocacy, so contributions are generally not deductible. Businesses may treat sponsorships as marketing expenses – check with your CPA.
